The price of an engagement ring has been a trending topic among internet users, listening to a radio station recently, I heard about a lady who called off her impending wedding because her husband to be proposed with a $50 engagement ring.

The said lady received her engagement ring with all smiles and hugs and finally said yes to the big question her lover asked her regarding their future together. But one day the bride-to-be was going through her Instagram feeds while checking out bridal-related content on the app. To her surprise, she stumbled across a ring that looked exactly like the engagement ring her fiancé gave her and was still up for sale.

Making inquiries with the ring vendor, she found out her engagement ring was from the vendor she was talking to on Instagram, and her ring wasn't that rare, actually, her ring can be gotten for bulk purchase and each one goes for $50 only.

The bride-to-be infuriated with her findings confronted her fiancée and demanded he tell her where he bought the ring and how much it cost him, he told her the source of the ring and the amount he bought it, and his story matches what the ring vendor told her on Instagram. The bride feeling let down because of the price of the engagement ring pulled it off, threw it at his fiancé, and called off the wedding. She also took to her social media handles to share the news that her engagement is off.

A friend of the groom to be shared the story with the radio station and the story caused divided opinion among listeners. 

So in my opinion, before any man planning to settle down with a woman, especially a woman with good taste, the man should be budgeting at least $1000 for a proper engagement ring, to avoid embarrassment and to show the seriousness that he's ready to settle down.
